If you have to strain your urine to capture a kindey stone (so you can take it to your doctor for analysis), you can strain it through a white Mr. Coffee filter. It is easy to see the sediment against the white back ground. If you capture the stone, just let the filter dry, fold it so the stone doesn't fall out, and put the whole thing in a baggie with your address label on the outside. Take it to your doctor's office, and they will take it from there.

With 4 kids, we go through dishes quick. I use coffee filters all the time when my kids want to have a snack. They hold chips and popcorn perfectly and clean up is easy. Just toss the filter in the garbage.
